13. Mandarin Language Information

Students who enrolled in courses taught in Mandarin (as shown on your admission letter) need to pass TOCFL Level 4 (B2) before graduation. The following are exempted: Students from PMP, courses taught in English, Students with Mandarin as their mother language, or Students from Hong Kong & Macao.

Language requirement

  1. In order to help students to fit into programs taught in Mandarin, undergraduate students must take FCU’s Mandarin language proficiency test (held after the registration, the test date will be informed by OIA). Based on their language proficiency, students will receive a classification of Grade A, B and C. Students are expected to improve their language abilities by taking the free language classes for degree students.
  2. Students who register in English-taught programs are recommend taking the series of free Mandarin language courses to improve their Mandarin ability and future competitiveness
