The Asia-Pacific University Community Exchange (UMAP) aims to promote student exchange in higher education and academic and cultural interactions among member countries in the Asia-Pacific region, through the UMAP Student Exchange Program (USCO).

The program includes: Multilateral Exchange Program A (tuition waiver) & Bilateral Exchange Program B (self-funded)

  • Eligibility (same as for FCU Study Abroad Program)
  1. Applicants must be enrolled at the time of application and throughout the overseas study period. Extended-study students are generally ineligible, except with Review Committee approval; reinstated students or those enrolled less than one semester may not apply, but this restriction does not apply to graduate students.
  2. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above; full-year tuition waiver applicants must rank within the top 50% of their department.
  3. Must meet the academic and language proficiency requirements of the host institution.
  • Application Process

1. Complete the online application form: click here

(1) Application deadline: February 26, 2026 (Thursday) by 5:00 PM

(2) Required documents: 2-inch photo, parental consent form (Attachment 1), study plan (Attachment 2), disciplinary records, graduate advisor consent form (Attachment 3), language proficiency certificates, and English transcripts.

Transcripts for the 114-1 academic year can be requested from March 5, 2026. Please submit all previous transcripts by March 10, 2026 as instructed.

2. Internal review approval: The results are expected to be announced in mid-March 2026.

(2) Required documents: English transcripts, valid language proficiency certificates, English motivation letter, English study plan, English enrollment verification, etc. (Documents may vary by institution)

  2. Note that you can only apply for either the UMAP scholarship or the MOE Subsidy Directions for Encouraging Universities to Select Students to Study Abroad or to Enter Internship Programs; choose the most suitable funding option for yourself.
  • Important Notes
  1. Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria, are incomplete, or are submitted after the deadline will not be processed.
  2. To ensure fairness, you cannot apply for both the UMAP Exchange Program and FCU Study Abroad Programs for the same period. If simultaneous applications are submitted, the relevant eligibility will be immediately canceled.
  3. This selection is only for the 115-1 academic year (Fall 2026) study abroad period. If you are unable to study abroad as planned, your qualifications will be canceled and cannot be retained or deferred for any reason.
  4. Other regulations regarding distribution, admission, and study abroad are the same as for FCU Study Abroad Programs.
