Kengo Kuma: 'Looking forward to the completion and inauguration of Virtuosi Hall at Feng Chia University.'

Today (9th), international architect Kengo Kuma visited Feng Chia University to inspect the progress of Virtuosi Hall, the only campus landscape architecture he designed in Taiwan. He praised Feng Chia University, Lih Ming Construction, Hsin Hsiang Engineering Consultants, and Chen Li-Chuan Architects for their dedication and responsibility towards the construction of Virtuosi Hall. He also expressed high expectations for its completion and inauguration next spring.

Despite the scorching heat of 37 degrees Celsius, wearing a construction helmet, Kengo Kuma, along with his partner Taro Sanada, designer Meng-Wei Lai, and President Satoko Shinohara of Japan Women's University, inspected the details of the Virtuosi Hall site with Feng Chia University's Chairman Cheng-Shu Kao, President Wei Wang, and the construction team. They carefully checked the zinc flower inverted panels, Japanese cypress vertical grilles, glass curtain walls, multimedia classrooms, interactive grand staircase, and the 200, 300, and 500-seat lecture halls. Despite the sweltering heat and lack of wind, the architect's dedication was admirable, focusing on the overall structure and the details.

Today marks the first day of the new semester at Feng Chia University. Kengo Kuma also took the time to encourage young students at the opening ceremony of the Feng Chia School of Architecture. He expressed his happiness at seeing the remarkable progress of the construction of the Virtuosi Hall. He stated that Virtuosi Hall will be a symbol of sustainable campuses in higher education, embodying the spirit of 'Virtuosi' and bringing people together beautifully.
