Prof. Lee Liding Guided Pre-graduates to Win the Best Poster Award in PESI 2021

The 2021 Polymer Engineering and Science International Conference 2021 (PESI 2021) was originally scheduled to be held at the Howard Hotel Kenting, Kaohsiung from May 31 to June 3. It was conducted in the form of online conferences, but even so, it still attracted more than 200 scholars and graduate students from many countries to participate. Prof. Lee Liding from the Department of Materials Science and Technology of Feng Chia University instructed Cai Chengyu and Tong Junqi, two senior pre-graduates to participate in the paper presentation and won the Best Poster Award.

The PESI is one of the most important international seminars in the field of polymer materials research. It is generally held once every two years. The previous one was held by Yamagata University in Japan in 2019, and this time by Taiwan Hosted by Chang Gung University. This international seminar mainly brings together international scholars from various related disciplines of polymer materials to discuss the real-time progress of polymer materials and related novel technologies. This seminar is mainly divided into two parts: the keynote speech and the paper publication. The keynote speech part invites experts and scholars from Portugal, Austria, Japan, the United States, Canada, and Taiwan to give special lectures on the topic of the seminar; the papers are delivered by oral reports and poster Showcase presentation.

Two students, Cai Chengyu and Tong Yunqi, under the guidance of Prof. Lee Liding, with the topic "Discussions on non-isothermal crystallization of ternary biodegradable polymer composites in the presence of functional nucleation agent", stood out among the many participants and won the best poster presentation. prize. This research combines the biodegradable polymer poly(ethylene succinate), green chain relaxer, and functional filler to prepare an environmentally friendly green ternary polymer composite material. The functional filler in the composite material can significantly improve the physical properties of the biodegradable polymer poly(ethylene succinate), which expands the application of the composite material in the future. During the presentation, the students also showed their creativity and introduced the content of the poster with lively and lively films in conjunction with contextual dialogue. I believe that in addition to the research results, the creative presentation methods should also impress the participants. Through this experience, the students said that they have gained a lot, especially in terms of professional publication, foreign language ability, and teamwork.
