Your Gateway to Mandarin Proficiency and Taiwanese Culture

Feng Chia University’s International Foundation Program is designed to equip international students with strong Mandarin language skills and cultural understanding before entering degree programs. Backed by our Chinese Language Center with over 40 years of teaching excellence, the program features highly qualified instructors, immersive real-life scenarios, and small-class teaching (maximum 15 students per class) to ensure personalized and effective learning.

The core curriculum consists of 20 hours per week over 18 weeks, totaling 360 hours per semester. Students are guided to complete 720 hours of instruction within the first academic year, meeting the Ministry of Education’s requirement and preparing to pass the TOCFL Basic Level (A2).

In addition to structured coursework, students can join bi-weekly free cultural workshops such as Taiwanese Tea, Calligraphy Experience, and Mahjong Introduction, offering a hands-on approach to discovering Taiwan’s unique cultural charm.

To further enhance language acquisition, the program provides a comprehensive tutoring system. This includes instructor-led sessions and one-on-one or small group support from trained work-study students, focusing on the four core skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—and test preparation for TOCFL.
